BUCKNET INTERNET POISED TO TACKLE LARGER PLAYERS HEAD ON:
Cape Town-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) Bucknet Internet
is set to aggressively target the sector of the local ISP currently
dominated by big players.
The director of Bucknet Internet, says the company has a
first-tier international infrastructure as well as a solid national
infrastructure with bandwidth via both fibre and satellite. They
have various dial-up numbers throughout the country, thus every call
is a local call.
"Our primary goal is to achieve top-notch customer satisfaction
through engineering excellence, innovative and effective products,
and superior service. We always work as a team and put the customer
first," The Director says.
BuckNet Internet has sponsored the rack mounted root server in
the South African Root Server Project. This venture revolves around
a system of 13 file servers which are distributed worldwide and
contain authoritative databases that form a master list of all
top-level domain names. Bucknet Internet is in good company, with
UUNET and IS each sponsoring bandwidth, and Cisco sponsoring a
router.
According to the Director, Bucknet Internet has set its sights on
becoming one of South Africa's leading ISP's. It intends to achieve
this objective by leading the field in terms of quality, price and
service. Bucknet Internet focuses on medium to large enterprises
which require premium Internet access and a highly adaptable
service.
BuckNet Internet is well positioned to fulfil these goals. It has
agreements with Internet Solutions for bandwidth backup, Telkom SA
for leased line connections and access to the SAT3 international
fibre cable.
They are a registered member of the Proudly South African
initiative as well as the European Chamber of Commerce to ensure
ethical and moral business practices.
"Since our inception in 1995, Bucknet Internet has provided
a reliable, affordable service to a rapidly growing client
base," The director says. "We have the infrastructure, knowledge
and experience of the big players."
BuckNet Internet's offering includes the fastest, most affordable
dial-up access available. This package includes analogue dial-up,
and both 64kbps and 128kbps ISDN dial-up access. Additional features
incorporate five free e-mail accounts, an optional static IP
address, a call center service and access to newsgroups and chat
servers. To enhance security, free virus software is supplied with
all our dial-up connections.
In addition, BuckNet Internet offers a wide range of leased line
connectivity solutions to suit specific needs. "Leased lines
are ideal for the needs of medium to large corporations needing a
fast, permanent Internet access option available 24 hours a
day,"the director explains.
"Whether clients opt for a shared server or a dedicated
solution, they can rest assured that their application is being
housed in a state-of-the-art data center that ensures the high
availability, speed and security of their mission-critical
systems."
